The wonderful world of wallpaper...

More than 1000 original vintage wallpaper patterns. Antique wallpaper in original rolls. Quantities of Victorian antique papers, Damask wallpaper, 1940's florals, L'art Deco geometrics, novelties from the 1950's, 1960's Op Art, 1970's Mylars. For immediate delivery. Largest collection in the world.

I am a sucker for everything erstwhile and nostalgic and this vintage wallpaper hits the spot. Second hand Rose has an amazing collection of papers and linoleum. I want to order all of these one of a kind treats. You will be the talk of the town with any one of these patterns lining your wall!

C . H . A . I . R . (noun) 1. a seat for one person, with a support for the back

“I went to the park and saw this kid flying a kite. The kid was really excited. I don't know why, that's what they're supposed to do. Now if he had had a chair on the other end of that string, I would have been impressed.”
Mitch Hedburg

This Chair was made by Eric Ku, how clever!

I love this owl chair by Erica Wilson, it was on ebay with a starting bid of $3,000!

Organic, comfortable, beautiful or just plain sad, a picture of a chair says 1,000 words. acquiring a funky chair is a great way to break out of your comfort zone with out breaking the bank. A pink chair would do that for me. I hate pink, on clothes, furniture anything. I guess I will start there. Sit and stay awhile.

Between the sheets
On this cold almost fall morning I could not see a more fitting post then bedding, since that is were everyone would rather be than back to work after the holiday weekend. This is the perfect time of year to switch up your bedding since we are going from the lighter summer coverlets to the heavier winter duvets...and oh do I love them. Library
The image below is from my new obsession Three Potato four, they have beautiful one of a kind pieces such as signs, letters, vintage paper, keys etc... so much inspiration to be found!

I have been acquiring items for my unfinished library for some time, these things have been accumulating whilst my desire to finish the library has been dwindling. I have been looking for inspiration to motivate me, these images have helped. I will be sure to post the finished room just as soon as I can!

I want the library to very simple and clean. whites, creams, beiges and golden rod will be my colors with a brown velvet couch and flour sack chair. I just need to get my husband away from fixing the garage so he can help me hang the shelves. I am hoping that the cool weather gets me moving, I just need to keep thinking of cozy fall afternoons curled up with a good book!

These are a few pieces I found that have the aesthetic I am looking for, I found them on Anthropologies and Pottery Barns website. I do plan on creating and finding these pieces myself, that is always more interesting than waiting for Fed Ex!

Berkus Buzzz
Oprah featured Nate Berkus on a fairwell to Nate show earlier this week...he is leaving the Oprah show to start his own! Not only is Nate charming on tv so are his designs take a look below...

Who says a chandelier is only meant for the dining room? The chandelier makes this space feel special, it’s a place of escape and tranquility exactly what you want when you are soaking in the bubbles.

(Bedroom featured in Elle Décor)
Bold colors can be your friend… here is a great examples were emerald green wallpaper is the perfect backdrop to the white crisp clean surroundings. Wallpaper is hot right now, if you’re afraid of it try picking a feature wall and using it there. Large scale patterns are a great way to ensure it won’t turn out like your grandmas kitchen…we love you gma:)

(Photo from Nate’s spring/summer 2009 look book)
Adding depth with details, this may just look like stuff on a side table but by adding books that reflect your interests, or pieces of the sea that you have found on your travels, makes your home personal. Instead of just buying these things to stage your home, use things that reflect your personality and interests that way your home is truly you and not just out of a magazine.
We feel especially inspired by Nate because of his entrepreneur skills, at the young age of 24 he formed is first design firm…we were 26! The new Nate Berkus show premiers Sept 13, 2010…we are excited to see what’s in store next!
